PSG on crutches ahead of Bayern – Vitinha injured, the club’s medical room is full

After eliminating Liverpool 4–0 on aggregate in the Champions League quarter-finals, Paris Saint-Germain now face their next major test in the competition – Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians impressed in their tie against Real Madrid, which is why many see this clash between PSG and Bayern as a “final before the final.” However, ahead of the semi-final showdown with the German giants, PSG have run into unexpected and serious problems.

During their league defeat to Lyon, one of their key players, Vitinha, picked up an injury that now puts his Champions League involvement in serious doubt. The Portuguese international was forced off in the 39th minute, with Lyon leading 2–0.

He was replaced by Zaire-Emery, who could now be in line for a starting role against Bayern. Vitinha suffered the injury after an aerial duel, landing awkwardly on his right foot. Although he initially went down the tunnel, he later returned to the bench visibly limping and without a boot.

His potential absence is a major blow for PSG at such a crucial stage of the season, especially given the list of injuries already piling up. Marquinhos, Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Joao Neves, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Lucas Beraldo are also sidelined, meaning PSG could be severely depleted for the Bayern clash.

The first leg is scheduled for April 28 in Paris, with the return fixture set for a week later in Munich.
