Ligue 1 title race is alive! Lyon dismantle PSG at Parc des Princes

PSG slip up, injuries mount, and Lens lurk just one point behind

Looks like the title race in France has a pulse again.

Paris Saint-Germain slipped to a shock 2-1 home defeat against Olympique Lyon on Sunday night, leaving the door wide open for RC Lens. After their dramatic comeback win over Toulouse, Lens remain just one point behind the Ligue 1 champions - 63 to 62 - with a game in hand still to come for PSG.

That cushion could disappear quickly. A looming showdown at the Stade Bollaert in the penultimate round now carries real title weight, provided Lens keep winning. PSG, meanwhile, would much prefer to have things wrapped up before then, with one eye already drifting toward a heavyweight Champions League clash with Bayern.

But it's not just the result troubling Luis Enrique.

Injuries are starting to bite. Nuno Mendes was already sidelined, and now Vitinha was forced off early after an awkward landing at Parc des Princes. With Bayern on the horizon, Les Parisiens could be without two key pieces at the worst possible moment.

Rotation didn't help either. Big names were left out, and PSG paid the price with a flat start. Lyon struck twice inside 20 minutes - Endrick and Afonso Moreira combining ruthlessly to punish a sluggish Paris side.

PSG had their chances to turn it around, most notably when Goncalo Ramos missed from the spot. From there, it became a familiar story: plenty of possession, not enough bite.

Ousmane Dembele rattled the crossbar late on, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia pulled one back deep into stoppage time, but it was too little, too late.

PSG are still top, but suddenly, it feels a lot less comfortable.
