An unbelievable situation in which the French striker could have suffered serious consequences
Serious controversy is swirling around Real Madrid. A report from RMC Sport claims that star forward Kylian Mbappe may have been subjected to a major diagnostic mistake during his time at the club ā one that could have had severe repercussions, even putting his participation in this summerās World Cup at risk. Injury woes surrounding Mbappe!
For a prolonged period, Mbappe dealt with knee discomfort, at times continuing to play through pain without a clear understanding of the underlying issue.
Answers only came after he sought further evaluation back in Paris. Working alongside renowned knee expert Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, he adjusted his recovery plan ā with positive results. Crucially, surgery was avoided, and the French striker has since returned to action, marking his comeback in the Champions League clash against Manchester City (2-1).
Shockingly, Sonnery-Cottet reportedly concluded that "the work done in Madrid was inadequate." Even worse, there are suspicions that Real Madrid examined the wrong knee! Reports from The Athletic suggest that an MRI scan was mistakenly carried out on the wrong leg back in December. Because the healthy knee showed no issues, Mbappe went on to feature in three matches before the mistake came to light.

Unsurprisingly, the forward was said to be furious. Journalist Daniel Riolo didnāt hold back either, branding the situation an "absolute disgrace" and adding: "This diagnostic error could have been much more serious, because it took Mbappe a long time to find out what was wrong with him. He was active in other areas, even played some games, without knowing exactly what was going on with him. He could have ruined his knee."
Mbappe himself has since addressed the situation, pushing back on some of the claims: āMy knee is fine. Itās getting better. Itās going pretty well and I know there has been a lot of speculation about it and false things have been said.ā
And further: āThatās the life of a top athlete. Weāre used to people saying things without checking them and without any basis.ā
