Rino on a search for his personal renaissance in the heart of it

As recently as this morning, Genaro Gattuso was one step away from taking over Lazio, and this afternoon Fiorentina appointed him as their new boss.

Only a few days after he was fired in Napoli - after his side failed to clinch the Champions League spot - the former Milan midfielder has a new job. In fact, it will be a kind of new beginning for a temperamental tactician. Some would say a further step back (after dugouts of Milan and Napoli), but Rino obviously does not think so.

It was clear that the parting with the Neapolitans was getting closer even before that flop in the last round against Verona. Fifteen days ago, Tutosport even wrote that Gattuso's chances of taking over Juventus are growing, which further strengthens the impression that the young coach has fallen behind, but having in mind what kind of worker he is, there is no doubt that Viola should be expected to do something new and better next season.

Fiorentina finished the season in 13th position. Last summer, the ambitions were significantly higher. Cesare Prandelli retired in mid-March, and then it was decided to end the season with Giuseppe Yakini. Survival was not in question. However, the fight for the upper part of the table and eventual Europe's visa were the main goals.
