While the young Spaniard was celebrating Spain's place in the World Cup final, a dramatic burglary attempt was unfolding at his home
Lamine Yamal's dream night quickly turned into a frightening one. Just hours after helping Spain defeat France 2-0 to book a place in the World Cup final, the teenage sensation reportedly became the target of an attempted burglary at his home.
According to La Vanguardia, two masked men were caught on security cameras trying to gain access to Yamal's luxury residence in Esplugues de Llobregat, near Barcelona, at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

The alarm was reportedly raised by staff from a private security company monitoring the property. Before local police officers could arrive, the suspects fled the scene, with Catalonia's Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) now leading the inquiry into the attempted break-in.
Reports also suggest that at least two other homes within the same exclusive residential complex were targeted that morning, although investigators have not confirmed whether the incidents are connected.
Yamal's uncle, Abdul, sought to calm any concerns when speaking to Spanish television outlet Telecinco.
"I found out about the attempted robbery through La Vanguardia. We're not worried because it's an extremely secure house, and breaking into it is practically impossible."
The property itself is well known in Spain, having previously belonged to former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and global music star Shakira.
The incident is the latest in a growing number of burglaries involving footballers in the Barcelona area. Barcelona teammates Pau Cubarsi and Joan Garcia have both recently fallen victim to thieves. Cubarsi's home was reportedly burgled while he was at training after the Christmas break, with luxury watches among the items stolen.
Garcia, meanwhile, was targeted while away with the team for the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, where burglars allegedly made off with cash and valuable jewellery.
Fortunately for Yamal, the attempted break-in was foiled before any damage was done, allowing the Spain star to shift his focus back to Sunday's World Cup final.
