Their arrival was made easy by FKF’s Leagues and Competitions Committee decision to increase the foreign quota from five to seven.

Ideally, foreign players are supposed to add value to the league with the expectation that they will perform much better than their local counterparts.
With the spotlight on them, some of the players succumb to pressure, while others settle in fast and prove just why the clubs had to sign them.
Having comprehensively covered the season, Mozzart Sport takes a look at some of the six foreigners that had great impacts for their respective teams
Enoch Morrison - Gor Mahia
Former Gor Mahia midfielder Enoch Morrison was undoubtedly one of the most impressive foreigners in the just concluded season.
Having suffered heartache in his first season with the club after they failed to secure a trophy, the Ghanaian midfielder played a pivotal role as Gor Mahia went ahead to reclaim the FKFPL title from Kenya Police FC.
Playing at the base of the K’Ogalo midfield, Morrison was tasked with dictating play, initiating attacks from deep in their own half and, most importantly, screen the defense.
His efforts were recognized in the end of season gala awards, where he was named the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP) as well as Midfielder of the Year.
These efforts would then attract interest outside the country, with Sudanese giants Al Merrikh finally securing his signature from K’Ogalo on a three-year deal
Yves Koutiama - Police FC
Despite joining Police FC in the mid-season transfer window, Burkinable striker Yves Koutiama earned his name as one of the most prolific strikers in the league.
Koutiama crossed over from USFA Ouagadougou in his native and immediately hit the ground running by scoring important goals for the Law Enforcers, who were launching a late go at the league title.
In the end, the 27-year-old scored 10 league goals and helped Police to finish third on the log.
His exploits in Kenya have since attracted interest internationally, with Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga) currently leading the race to secure his signature in what could be a multi-million transfer deal.
Ebenezer Assifuah - Gor Mahia
One of the other mid-season signings that stole the headlines is Ghanaian striker, Ebenezer Assifuah.
Assifuah joined the club in February and had an immediate impact, scoring the winner off the bench on his debut, as Gor Mahia staged a remarkable comeback to win 3-2 against Murang’s Seal after going down 2-0.
Despite having fitness issues, Assifuah was instrumental in helping Gir Mahia to lift the title, with coach Charles Akonnor preferring to use him as a super substitute.
With only half a season, the 32-year-old managed to score an impressive eight league goals.
Jackson Dwang' - Gor Mahia
He is perhaps the most advantageous foreign player in the FKFPL having spent most of his life in Kenya.
The South Sudanese international began the season at Posta Rangers, where he impressed, before being signed by Gor Mahia in February to replace Austin Odhiambo .
He went ahead to be instrumental as the club secured a record 22nd league title.
Edward Masembe - APS Bomet
Ugandan defender, Edward Masembe, also stole the show after proving himself as a pivotal figure for Mozzart Bet-sponsored APS Bomet
Masembe stood in the gap and stabilized the otherwise leaking APS central defence.
Masembe led the defense and indeed the team to keep eight consecutive clean sheets, as they produced an incredible 11-match unbeaten run- that included seven consecutive wins to finish an impressive 10th on the league table.
Michael Karamor - Nairobi United
Nigerian forward Michael Karamor also caught the eye of many stakeholders with his performances for the club.
Karamor was the main man at the apex of the Naibois attack, a duty he performed well.
Despite a diP in form in mid season, the burly striker was still impressive as he went ahead to score nine league goals.
