League leaders Gor Mahia were the biggest beneficiaries, securing a win that put one hand on the title in a week that saw their closest and arch-rivals, AFC Leopards, receive a bye.
The battle against relegation, which has also attracted equivalent attention, witnessed massive changes with four matches to play before the end of the season.
As has been the case throughout the season, Mozzart Sport extensively covered the seven matches and pieced together some of the six lessons picked.
Bryne Omondi's heroics draw Gor Mahia closer to the title
Gor Mahia secured a last-minute winner against Kakamega Homeboyz courtesy of a 93rd-minute own goal by former AFC Leopards winger Peter Thiong’o.

However, the Man of the Match has to be Gor Mahia goalkeeper Bryne Omondi, who produced spectacular saves throughout the match to keep his team in the game.
K’Ogalo were missing the services of South Sudan international Jackson Dwang’ through suspension and approached the match with a five-man defense which limited their creativity.
With Homeboyz on attack, Omondi proved why he is a regular in the national team by making saves that eventually proved pivotal as the team went on to secure three points.
In the end, Gor Mahia took their points tally to 64, opening up a nine-point gap over AFC Leopards and increasing their chances of bagging a record-extending 22nd league title.

With four matches remaining to the end of the season, head coach Charles Akonnor will be banking on the quality of Omondi in goal to ease the load of securing wins.
Aboud Omar key to Police FC’s late resurgence
Once again, it was Harambee Stars defender Aboud Omar who came to Kenya Police FC’s rescue with a sublime free kick to secure a 2-1 win over Murang’a Seal.
The former Tusker FC defender has been a specialist from dead balls in recent matches, having previously scored the only goal that booked Police’s place in the Mozzart Bet Cup semi-final.

His set pieces, both from free kicks and corner kicks, have also provided assists to teammates to score and have also inspired Police to victory.
With the game tied at 1-1 and in its last 10 minutes, Omar stepped up in the 84th minute to secure the three points that took Police within four points of second-placed AFC Leopards.
CS Murkomen’s millions key to APS Bomet's survival
APS Bomet are in a fight for their lives against the wide jaws of relegation that have been threatening to swallow them after flirting with it for the whole season.
However, the team has been in great form in recent times and have since won four consecutive league matches, having failed to even win back-to-back matches throughout the season.
While the quest for survival is in itself motivation, the promise of Ksh1.85 million by Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS), Kipchumba Murkomen, for every win the team bags in the league has proven to be a key ingredient in their survival fight.
Each player and staff member who was in the squad that beat KCB FC, for instance, bagged Ksh50,000 from the CS, an amount they could earn in each of the remaining matches if they win.
Julien Mette's double speak on time wasting
Tusker FC French coach Julien Mette is now establishing himself as a master of double speak on matters of time wasting.
While the vice is bad for football, the 44-year-old has been condemning it when his team loses, but would allow Tusker to do so when they have taken the lead, as was the case in the league match against Gor Mahia and the Mozzart Bet Cup tie against Kariobangi Sharks.
Sharks staring down the barrel
After nine years in the Kenyan top flight, Kariobangi Sharks are in danger of making a disappointing return to the National Super League (NSL) if their latest results are anything to go by.
Sharks were held to a barren draw by Bidco United and therefore remain in the relegation zone with 30 points ahead of the remaining four matches.
More concerning is the fact that they have only managed one win in their past six matches, a totally contrasting result against a team like APS, who have won four and drawn two over the same period.
End of an era for Sofapaka
Sofapaka’s 17-year stay in the top flight has finally come to an end despite staging a late comeback to bag a 2-2 draw with Mathare United.
Batoto ba Mungu have previously survived the chop by a whisker but have endured a poor season that finally saw them crushed by relegation.
The team has, for instance, not won a match in 2026 and are currently on a 22-match winless run that includes 15 losses.
