The Spanish Super Cup will be played on Saudi Arabian soil in the next couple of days

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) receives a staggering €40 million annually from Saudi Arabia for having its Super Cup played in their kingdom. And the latest edition of it (40th ever) is about to kick off on Wednesday in Riyadh, as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid lock horns in the first semi-final. The other two teams competing for the trophy are Barcelona and Osasuna.

According to reports, Barca and Real Madrid will be paid €6 million each, Atleti is due half that amount, and Osasuna is a paltry €880,000.

Therefore, it was time for solidarity - as per Marca, the three giants of Spanish football will distribute €300,000 each for Osasuna. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid would transfer part of their income to the minnows.

The money that the Navarrese club is going to take exceeds one million euros, an amount that is above the distribution assigned in the official distribution. Classy touch.
