K'Ogalo trailed twice in the game but still managed to sneak their way to victory

Gor Mahia's tactician Andreas Spier was over the moon after his side came from behind twice to collect maximum points against Nairobi City Stars at Kasarani on Sunday despite being a man less.

K'Ogalo had to play for more than 15 minutes with a man less after their custodian Gad Matthews was given his marching orders in the game after handling the ball outside his area to deny Anthony Mukki Kimani a clear scoring chance.

The record Kenyan champions went behind in the game twice but took the lead when it mattered, and with Matthews already sent off, to bag maximum points in the game to the delight of the coach who attributed the goal to the tactical prowess of his bench.

"The happiness after that third goal was double when we scored the winner because if you are one man less and you change something in the tactic and score the winning goal is really amazing for the bench and I am very happy for this," Spier said.

Further, the former Football Kenya Federation technical director termed the win as a deserved one considering that they created their chances in the build up to the goals while City Stars profited from K'Ogalo's mistakes.

Anthony 'Muki' Kimani scored first for City Stars, then Sammy Onyango equalized before the break. Timothy Babu Ouma reclaimed the lead in the first minute of the second half but Benson Omala ensure the two went level 20 minutes later. Eventually, Gor took the lead after Dennis Wanjala put the ball into his own net, connecting to a Sammy Onyango cross.

"Everything in the match was exactly what even the fans would wish to see. We saw five goals and to come from behind twice to win the match was very nice. It was a deserved win because we created the chances while our opponents profited from our mistakes. There is a big difference between creating chances and profiting from mistakes," he added.
