In Armenia, Harambee Stars midfielder ,Alwyn Tera, was in action for his Ararat Armenia side as they extended their lead on top of the country’s Premier League standings.
Tera, who was on the field to witness his team bounce out of the Armenia Cup at the semifinal stage, played 90 minutes days later, as Ararat ran out 2-0 winners over Urartu at the Urartu Stadium in Yerevan.
After a barren draw in the first half, visitors Ararat opened the scoring in the 72nd minute through Alioune Ndour, before the Senegalese forward added a second deep in stoppage time, to wrap up a priceless win that took his team six points clear at the tp, and with only three games remaining to the end of the season.
Meanwhile in Sweden, Kenyan midfielder Stanley Wilson was once again involved as AIK drew 1-1 with Elfsborg at the Borås Arena on Sunday.
Wilson, who is yet to miss a minute of this season’s Allsvenskan, played all the 90 minutes, in his new-found left-back position.
Hosts Elfsborg broke the deadlock after only eight minutes through Ari Sigurpalsson, before AIK responded immediately after, netting the equalizer a minute later via Zadok Yohanna.

UTA Arad, who are fighting to remain in the country’s top tier (Superliga) next season, thought they were on their way to their first win since 11 April when Alexandru Benga scored inside the first 13 minutes, only for the visitors to miss a second-half penalty, have a goal disallowed, and concede a last minute spot-kick, which Gheorghe Grozav converted in the seventh minute of stoppage time.
The result saw UTA Arad remain in contention to maintain their Superliga Status, as they remained second in the relegation group with 33 points.
In South Africa, Harambee Stars keeper Brian Bwire’s extended absence at Polokwane extended to a 12th straight game, as he was not named in the squad that lost 3-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Bwire’s last game for the club came on 31 January, when Polokwane drew 2-2 with Orbit College in the league.
