The 22-year-old Kenyan opened the scoring in the 18th minute after being played through by Gorka Carrera Zarranz, capping off a lively start for the hosts.
Leganés, however, drew level in the 40th minute through Amadou Diawara.
Sociedad secured all three points deep into stoppage time when Dani Díaz netted the winner in the 96th minute, a goal that stood after a VAR review.
The victory marked Sociedad’s first back-to-back wins in over a month.
Ochieng, who made his international debut for Kenya against Burundi in October, impressed before being substituted in the 76th minute after picking up a knock.
He earned a 7.5 match rating after producing four crosses, completing six of nine passes, winning nine of 15 ground duels, and making seven recoveries.
The result lifts Sociedad B to 16th on the table with 15 points from 13 matches.
Ochieng has now featured in 10 games this season, starting six, with two goals, two assists, and four yellow cards in 487 minutes of play.
The winger, who signed a two-year contract extension with Real Sociedad in May, continues his steady rise in Spanish football.
After moving from Ligi Ndogo to Spain in 2019, Ochieng joined the youth ranks at Maspalomas, later training with Las Palmas before linking up with Sociedad’s C team in 2022.
Promoted to Sociedad B last season, he is now pushing for a senior team call-up.
Harper Features as Walsall Cruise in Six-Goal Thriller
In England, Harambee Stars defender Vincent Harper played the full 90 minutes as League Two leaders Walsall defeated bottom side Newport County 4–2 at Rodney Parade.
Newport took a surprise lead in the 16th minute through Kai Whitmore, but Walsall hit back swiftly, Daniel Kanu and Ryan Finnigan scoring within three minutes to turn the game around.
Finnigan grabbed his second before Rico Browne sealed the win in the 52nd minute.
Despite Gerard Garner’s late strike for the hosts, Walsall comfortably held on to extend their stay at the summit.
Harper delivered a solid defensive display, earning a 6.8 rating.
He completed two tackles, four interceptions, one clearance, two recoveries, and blocked a shot.
The left-back also won five of nine ground duels and two of three aerial battles.
Elsewhere, Clarke Oduor was an unused substitute as Grimsby Town squandered a two-goal advantage to draw 2–2 against Barrow.
