Barcelona is actively searching for a replacement for Lewandowski — this time, none other than an English legend

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has reportedly caught the attention of Barcelona.

The 32-year-old England captain has been in sensational form this season, netting 22 goals and providing three assists in just 15 appearances across all competitions. According to Sport, the Catalan club has identified Kane as a prime candidate to succeed Robert Lewandowski when his contract expires in June.

Barcelona are actively searching for Lewandowski’s replacement and are also monitoring Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, who impressed in the Premier League with Manchester City. Nevertheless, Kane appears to be the frontrunner on Barca’s summer wishlist.

Kane is reportedly open to a move but has no intention of making a decision before the season concludes. His contract at Bayern runs until 2027, but a special clause allows him to leave this summer for a reduced fee of 57 million pounds.

The striker’s situation has alerted not only Barcelona but also Premier League clubs, including his former side Tottenham, who sold him to Bayern for 104 million pounds two years ago. Spurs also hold the first refusal on his release clause.

Kane remains one of Tottenham and England’s all-time top scorers and has continued his prolific scoring since moving to Germany in 2023, amassing an impressive 107 goals and 29 assists in 111 appearances for Bayern.
