The Premier League has confirmed that supporters will be allowed into the stands in the last two matchdays – but no away fans
Finally! After what’s felt like an eternity, football fans will be welcomed into the stadiums to watch Premier League football live. The last two matchdays, in the second half of May, will see up to 10,000 people allowed into the stadiums to make some noise and watch their favourite teams in the flesh.
The Premier League has confirmed no away supporters will be permitted to attend matches for the final two rounds of the 2020/21 season.
Up to 10,000 fans will be allowed into matches in round 37 on May 18 and 19 and in round 38 on May 23, provided the United Kingdom government goes ahead with the planned easing of coronavirus restrictions on May 17. The Premier League issued a statement to break the good news.
"Following consultation with clubs, it was agreed matches would not be open to away supporters due to varying operational challenges across the league and the need to deliver a consistent approach while maximising the opportunity for home-fan attendance. The safety and security of supporters is of paramount importance. Clubs have a proven track record of providing Covid-safe environments and have operational plans in place ready to safely welcome supporters back to their stadiums. Fans have been greatly missed at Premier League matches and this marks a key step towards full stadiums, including away fans, from the start of the 2021/22 season."
The #PL has today confirmed that the final two Matchweeks of the 2020/21 season will be limited to home fans, subject to the Government easing lockdown restrictions in the United Kingdom

Up to 2,000 fans were allowed at a number of Premier League matches in December, the last time fans were in attendance at top-flight games, before the country was locked down again. Some pilot events, such as the Carabao Cup final at Wembley where Manchester City and Tottenham each had 2,000 fans in attendance, have been held to test the safe return of spectators.
