Atalanta beat AC Milan 3-2 in a thrilling Serie A game

What a game at Stadio Atleti Azzurri D'Italia! Milan levelled twice away to Atalanta, cancelling out two Ademola Lookman goals, but they couldn't find a reply when Luis Muriel made it 3-2 deep in added time to seal a fantastic win for La Dea - The Goddess!

The match started with both teams displaying early intent. AC Milan created the first opportunity when Olivier Giroud, after a smart exchange with Christian Pulisic, attempted to place the ball, but Berat Djimsiti deflected the effort.

Atalanta responded vigorously, with Charles De Ketelaere missing a glorious opportunity to put them in the lead. The former Milan player fired a shot high from close range, squandering a golden chance.

However, the hosts soon capitalized thanks to a Lookman strike in the 39th minute, putting them ahead 1-0. The Nigerian dribbled past Theo Hernandez and fired a shot that deflected off Fikayo Tomori, deceiving Mike Maignan in goal.

The Rossoneri fought back and managed to level the scores just before the break. Giroud, making a comeback after a two-game suspension, nodded home a corner kick with an impressive header without even getting off the ground, making it 1-1.

In the second half, both sides aimed to break the deadlock, but La Dea seemed more incisive. De Ketelaere had another opportunity to torment his parent club but failed to convert, firing straight at Maignan. Tomori's solid defensive work prevented further danger from the Belgian forward.

Lookman restored the lead for Gian Piero Gasperini's team and could have scored another after some terrific work by the young Giorgio Scalvini, but Maignan produced a world-class save to keep Milan in the game.

Just a few minutes later, substitute Luka Jovic tapped in to make it 2-2. The Serbian international is getting back to the form that once secured him a transfer to Real Madrid. He may not be quite at that level now, but Stefano Pioli certainly welcomed his leveller ten minutes from time.

Just as the game was heading into a 2-2 draw, Luis Muriel beat Maignan with an outrageous backheeled finish deep in added time to give Atalanta a deserved win - their first against Milan in four years. What a game!
