Ulimwengu rose from the bench to hand Gor Mahia three vital points against Wazito.
Gor Mahia forward Jules Ulimwengu has revealed how head coach Manuel Vaz Pinto’s pep talk before he came on and notched the match-winner against Wazito on Monday prepared him for the occasion.
Ulimwengu was called from the bench for Clifton Miheso in the 79th minute and was on hand to ensure K’Ogalo walked away with all three points with a goal three minutes after his arrival.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Ulimwengu noted that Pinto emphasized the importance of maintaining their winning streak against Wazito.
“The coach told me the match was really important and we have to score in order to win, he had no plans to draw or lose the match, he wanted us to score,”
“When going for goal, I saw the goalkeeper rushing from his line because I had a glance at him before hitting the ball and I was glad it found the back of the net,” said Ulimwengu.

Ulimwengu has been missing from the Gor Mahia matchday squads after he was forced into mandatory quarantine following his trip back from Burundi after the resumption of sports in the country.
Tito Okello was guilty of squandering a number of chances in the game including from point-blank range when he intercepted a pass from goalkeeper Levis Opiyo.
The Burundian import admitted that the clash against Francis Kimanzi’s charges was a tough outing but was glad the K’Ogalo sealed maximum points.
“I think previously we had not gelled and we had not gotten used to the coach’s system, we have since adapted and the team is now scoring and winning,”
“The game was hard but we thank God because we were able to secure maximum points,” added the former Rayon Sport forward.
