Bidco United forward John Kelwish Walubuka will be seeking to score more than ten goals in his second spell in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

Walubuka returned to the top flight after more than five years in the cold, rejoining Bidco two months ago from National Super League side Naivas.

He was in the starting line up when Bidco played Posta Rangers to a barren draw in the first round of the 2023-2024 season that got underway last weekend.

Walubuka played in the top flight for the first time in 2015 with Sofapaka, whom he featured for two seasons before signing for Bidco who, by then were in the second tier.

Having managed double digits with Naivas in the last three seasons, the striker is hoping to replicate the same with the Thika based club in the current campaign.

"I have a target of reaching ten goals this season with Bidco. I have scored more than ten goals in the last three seasons in the NSL and I hope to achieve the same. I know the top flight is difficult but I will give my best," he said.

When probed on what he observed in the second edition of the Elite Pre-season Cup and the first round of the season, the 26-year old said the top teams in the country were more tactical and quicker than those in the Super League.

Walubuka featured in the preseason tournament where Bidco overcame top flight clubs to clinch the title, becoming the second club to win the crown after Kenya Police who clinched the first edition.

"I have noted differences between top teams and those which play in the second tier. You have to be tactically smart if you're to succeed in the top flight," he added.

Bidco are scheduled to play Nairobi City Stars this weekend with both teams seeking the first win of the season.

City Stars played Muhoroni Youth to a barren draw in round one.
