The former Sofapaka midfielder is banking on their performance against Ingwe to propel them to victory.

FKF Premier League side Murang'a Seal have suffered from profligacy in front of goal in the past few games, much to the detriment of their pursuit for points, but that is not a major bother to the team’s captain, Joe Waithira.

Seal wasted glorious goal-scoring opportunities in their 1-1 draw with Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday, 9 November, before suffering the same fate in their barren draw with Kenyan giants AFC Leopards on Sunday, 16 November.

While Waithira would have wished that his team converted those chances, he chose to view the glass as half full.

“The good thing is that we are creating chances, which means we are playing good, progressive football. In due course, the goals will come. It could have been worrying if we were not creating chances,” said Waithira.

“Nevertheless, we will keep pushing and perfecting our art in the final third in training, and I am sure the more we knock, the more we are likely to score more goals,” he added.

The Osborne Monday-coached side will be hoping that the week-long preparations ahead of their next match against Shabana on Sunday, 24 November, will help them sharpen their scoring touch.

With the two teams sharing a rivalry since their days in the National Super League (NSL), the former Sofapaka midfielder is banking on their performance against Ingwe to propel them to victory.

“We are planning to approach the game with a positive mindset and draw from the confidence of the point gained against AFC Leopards. With such a mindset, I am sure we will win,” he stated.

The former Wazito FC midfielder also took time to issue a rallying call to the Seal faithful ahead of the match.

“We always appreciate our fans as they have been with us always and pushed us through. I would urge them to continue rallying behind the team, and we will do all we can to make them happy.”

The Murang'a-based side are currently 14th on the log standings with nine points in as many matches.
