The league resumed yesterday, Saturday, 1 November, after a three-week hiatus occasioned by the Harambee Starlets’ 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.
Vihiga head into today’s match with a perfect record, having secured two wins in their first two matches.
The Boniface Nyamunyamu-coached side began their campaign with a 3-0 win over Bungoma Queens before beating FKF Women’s Cup champions Kibera Soccer Women 3-1 in their last outing.
They will now be aiming to make it three wins in a row and, hopefully, regain their place at the top of the table as they continue their quest to reclaim the league title.
Vihiga will once again rely on their in-form attacking duo, Martha Amunyolete and Airine Madalina, who have scored all six of the team’s goals this season, each finding the back of the net three times.
Kisped, on the other hand, have endured a poor start to the season, extending their struggles from last campaign. The Kisumu-based side has lost both of their opening fixtures this season.
They fell 2-1 to varsity side Zetech Sparks in their season opener before suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat to Ulinzi Starlets in their most recent outing.
To record their first win of the season, Kisped will have to be at their very best as they face one of the strongest and most in-form teams in the league.
Kisped have announced that tickets for the match will retail at a flat rate of Ksh 100, with the club urging fans to turn up in large numbers to support the team.
