The bankers last won the continental title in 2006 when coach Paul Bitok was the head coach.
Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) champions Kenya Prisons, KCB and Kenya Pipeline are in Tunisia where this year's CAVB women's club championship is set to be held between 19 May (arrival) and 1 June.
The three clubs are looking to end an almost ten-year drought since a Kenyan side clinched the title, and a seven-year drought since reaching the final.
Prisons are the last Kenyan club to win the title in 2013 after beating GS Petroliers of Algeria 3-2 in the final in Madagascar. They reached the 2014 final but lost to GS Petroliers.
The last time a Kenyan team featured in the final was in 2015 when Pipeline lost 3-1 to Al Ahly in Cairo, Egypt.
Kenyan sides have struggled to reclaim the African title since with Egyptians Al Ahly and CFC Carthage dominating.
KCB head coach Japeth Munala has expressed confidence in guiding his side to a podium finish as the team makes a return to the continental showpiece since 2019.
"We had a young squad in our last outing to the continental level and we finished ninth. These players have matured and we also have experienced players in our midst. We are hopeful to clinch the title the club last won in 2006 but if we fail, we have to be on the podium," said Munala.
The tactician says the squad has had time to gel since their last time on the continental stage and witha mix of experienced and young players, they have what it takes to deliver.
"We have around four players making their debut at the African championship then we have the experienced Mercy Moim, Edith Wisah and Sharon Chepchumba who are tasked with guiding the young ones as we look to achieve our targets.
When you have too many stars in the team it can become a problem as to who to set the ball for and that could affect the performance of the team," Munala offered.
