Leading financial services provider KCB Bank treated the winners of the 2023 KCB East Africa Golf Tour to an all-expenses-paid trip to play at the Magical Kenya Ladies Pro-Am tournament at the Par-73 PGA Baobab Course, Vipingo Ridge, Kilifi County.
The quartet of Christine Riaroh, Tabitha Ojwang, Joyce Osike, and Griffin Owino from Nyanza Golf Club arrived at the Vipingo Ridge on Tuesday afternoon for a week of activities, starting with the Pro-Am tournament on Wednesday.
At the Pro-Am, Riaroh, Ojwang, and Owino played alongside Pro Maria Hernandez (Spain) through the first nine holes, before pairing up with England’s Liz Young, through the last nine, combining for a gross score of 14-under par.
On her part, Osike played alongside Alessandra Fanali (Italy) and Meghan MacLaren (England), to return a combined score of 22-under par, that placed her team among the top ten finishers.
Speaking after her round, Riaroh thanked KCB for an amazing experience; “I want to thank KCB Bank for putting all this together for us, it has been an amazing experience, it is our first time at Vipingo and we can’t put into words how excited we are to be here.
“Our round was amazing, we got great tips from our Pros and enjoyed ourselves out there.
"We look forward to the rest of the week as we cheer on our local pros,” she added.
The team played further rounds at Nyali on Thursday and will be at Mombasa Golf Clubs on Friday, before following the final rounds of the 2024 Magical Kenya Ladies Open at the weekend.
