The competition, the 36th men’s and 27th women’s editions, will be staged from Saturday, 24 to Saturday, 31 January, at St. John’s College Astro Turf in Harare, Zimbabwe, bringing together Africa’s leading club hockey sides.
The Kenyan contingent cuts across tournament management, officiating and technical officials, underlining the country’s continued influence in African hockey administration despite ongoing challenges facing local clubs.
Peter Mwathe has been appointed as the Tournament Director (Men and Women), one of the most critical operational roles at the championship.
Also named to the technical leadership team is KHU President Nashon Randiek, who will serve as one of the Umpire Managers (UMs) for both the men’s and women’s competitions.

Kenya’s influence extends further into the tournament’s technical structure, with Issa Munjalu Barasa and Mercy Nanjala Wanyama both appointed as Technical Officials.
Kenyan umpires Maurice Mutisya Muindi and Susan Wangari Kahuto have been selected as National Umpires for the championship.
The appointments come at a time when Kenyan hockey clubs face growing financial and logistical hurdles in their pursuit of continental competition.
While Kenyan officials continue to earn recognition at the highest administrative and technical levels, clubs such as Lakers Hockey Club, Butali Warriors and Western Jaguars are still seeking funding to participate in the ACCC.
Despite these challenges, Kenya’s strong representation among tournament officials highlights the country’s enduring reputation as a reliable contributor to African hockey.
