The Sin Bin Queens are a group of 25 passionate women from Coast and Nairobi.

They have collectively raised Ksh104,052 to support the Pirates ahead of the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship season.

Their intervention comes at a crucial time, following the club's loss of its main sponsor, Base Titanium.

Pirates’ challenges began soon after their historic promotion to the Kenya Cup last season, where they became the first rugby team from Kwale County to reach Kenya’s top tier.

Base Titanium, citing economic challenges and tax issues, had already signaled their exit and relocated operations to Tanzania.

On the field, Pirates struggled to maintain their Kenya Cup status, winning only three of their 11 matches.

Relegation was confirmed on Saturday, 8 March, after a 35-0 defeat to Menengai Oilers.

With the Championship season expected to be even more demanding, Pirates will have to pull all the strings to ensure they stay afloat.

The club has also lost two of their key players, with Hafidh Mohammed, popularly known as Baby Rhino, to KCB Rugby, while dependable lock Collins Kabayo moved to Menengai Oilers.

Despite these setbacks, the Sin Bin Queens remain committed to the team.

“As supporters of the SCP, we were concerned when Base Titanium’s sponsorship ended. The SCP is more than about playing rugby; it is about coming together as a community and providing young people with opportunities. Twenty-five women donated, and collectively we raised Ksh104,052. Thank you to all who took part and contributed.

Have a wonderful season – we will be there cheering you on. Go Pirates!” the message from the dedicated supporters read.

Pirates will kick off their Championship campaign against newly promoted Kisii RFC on Saturday, 22 November at the Seacrest Grounds in Diani, Kwale County.
