The win marked Shujaa’s second triumph of the tournament and completed an impressive turnaround after an opening loss to the United States.
Kevin Wambua’s charges had earlier edged past Canada, making it back-to-back victories that propelled them firmly into contention in the pool standings.
Shujaa stamped their authority early against Belgium, striking in just the second minute through Kevin Wekesa, who capped off a well-orchestrated attacking move.
The sequence began from a ruck initiated by George Ooro, with Nygel Amaitsa linking up with Samuel Asati before the ball was worked wide for Wekesa to power past his marker and score.
Amaitsa, however, missed the conversion for a 5-0 lead.
The pressure remained relentless, and Vincent Onyala extended Kenya’s advantage in the seventh minute, diving over for the second try to hand Shujaa a 10-0 cushion at halftime, although the conversion again went astray.
Kenya picked up where they left off after the break, with Patrick Odongo crossing over in the 10th minute following another fluid attacking phase.
Asati combined neatly with Amaitsa, whose offload released Odongo for Shujaa’s third try, stretching the lead to 15-0.
Wambua’s side continued to press, introducing fresh legs, and substitute Floyd Wabwire made an instant impact by scoring Kenya’s fourth try in the 12th minute.
Amaitsa’s conversion attempt once more missed the target, but Shujaa had already sealed a dominant 20-0 lead.
Further changes saw David Nyangige, Dennis Abukuse, and John Okoth enter the fray as Belgium searched for a way back into the match.
Kenya were briefly reduced to six players after Asati was sin-binned late on, but Belgium failed to capitalize as Shujaa calmly managed possession and kicked the ball out to secure the win.
The result lifts Kenya to third place in the standings with seven points, just two behind leaders Germany.
Shujaa will now face Germany later on Sunday at 21:55 EAT in a crucial clash that could determine their progression.
Meanwhile, in the women’s competition, the Kenya Lionesses endured a frustrating end to their day, falling 19-14 to Spain in their third match.
The defeat marked their second loss of the tournament despite registering one win earlier.
The Lionesses now sit fourth in the standings on four points, trailing leaders South Africa by three points.
They will face the table-toppers later on Sunday at 20:23 EAT as they look to revive their campaign.
