Kabras RFC are looking to replicate impressive form in Kenya Cup Final against KCB RFC on Saturday in Kakamega
Defending champions Kabras RFC will take on Thika-Road-based KCB RFC in the Kenya Cup final on Saturday 11 at the Kakamega Showground. The match promises to be a jittery affair, with both sides eager to lift the coveted trophy.
Kabras RFC head to the final stage as favourites, having won all their regular season games and defeating their weekend opponents, KCB RFC, in their past match that was held at the Ruaraka Grounds. The game ended 29-23, and the Sugarmen are hoping to replicate their impressive form in the upcoming final.
In an interview ahead of the final, Kabras RFC head coach Carlos Kyatwa has promised an interesting match, noting it as a perfect challenge for his charges.
"We are up to it, and from my research, this will be different from all the other finals we have been with KCB RFC because I think it is the first one in a long time where Kabras goes into the finals having beaten them in the local league before," Kyatwa said.
"We go into the finals with different goals, a different mindset, and a different approach. It will not be easy, but it is going to be a nice one. It is a good challenge to us," he added.

Kyatwa also talked about the pressure his team is facing, with Kabras RFC coming into the final as underdogs despite their impressive season.
"Beating KCB RFC at home was a nice and historical win, but it brought up a lot of pressure in the team, and now they are coming to Kakamega as the underdogs. The pressure is piling on us, and we need to replicate our play in Nairobi," he said.
The tactician is confident that his blend of youth and experience will work perfectly in the final against KCB RFC, and he has urged his charges to remain focused and determined.
"We have set rules, principles, and values which are our driving force. The blend of youngsters and older players has worked perfectly for us throughout the season, and we hope it will be the same in the final," Kyatwa noted.
The Kabras RFC fans are hoping to see their team make history by remaining unbeaten the whole season and qualifying for their 8th consecutive final. With the pressure mounting and the stakes high, the Kenya Cup final promises to be a nail-biting encounter.
