After a two-week hiatus to pave the way for the Enterprise Cup quarterfinals and the historic hosting of the HSBC SVNS 2 in Nairobi, the top-tier competition resumes with high-stakes encounters that could significantly reshape the standings.

Five matches will be staged in Nairobi, while Nakuru will host one crucial fixture.

KCB Rugby vs MMUST Rugby

Former champions KCB Rugby will host Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) Rugby at the KCB Sports Club in a match with implications at both ends of the table.

The Bankers sit third on the log with 34 points, just one behind leaders Kabras RFC. Victory over the students could propel them to the summit, provided Oilers and Kabras’ results swing in their favor.

For MMUST, the stakes are equally high. The students recently climbed out of the relegation zone but remain precariously placed in 10th with nine points. A defeat could drag them back into the red zone.

Having suffered a loss to Daystar Falcons at home in their last outing, they face a daunting task against a title-chasing KCB side.

Kenya Harlequin vs Daystar Falcons

Kenya Harlequin will entertain Daystar Falcons in what promises to be a mouth-watering fixture.

Despite not registering a win this year, Quins have shown steady improvement, having faced heavyweights KCB, Kabras, and Oilers in recent weeks. Currently ninth with 10 points, they will view this clash as an opportunity to finally convert performances into results.

Daystar Falcons, meanwhile, travel with renewed confidence after edging MMUST in their previous match. The Kenya Cup newcomers have impressed in their debut campaign and sit seventh with 12 points. A win over Quins could see them break into the top five.

Nondescripts RFC vs Menengai Oilers

At the Ngong Racecourse, Nondescripts RFC will square it out with Menengai Oilers at 4:00 pm in what stands out as one of the round’s headline fixtures.

Last season, it was the Oilers who ended Nondies’ impressive Kenya Cup winning streak. The hosts will be eager to exact revenge this time, buoyed by home support.

However, the Oilers arrive in formidable form. They remain unbeaten after seven matches and sit second on 35 points, level with Kabras RFC but separated by points difference. The two-week break may have offered them the perfect window to recharge as they continue their pursuit of a maiden Kenya Cup title. A win in Nairobi would further underline their championship credentials.

Kenyatta University Blak Blad vs Kabras RFC

At the Blad Bin, Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad will host defending champions Kabras RFC in a fixture likely to test the students’ resolve.

The last time Blak Blad hosted a heavyweight at home was against KCB in January, where a slow start cost them dearly despite a spirited second-half display. They will be keen to avoid a similar fate and attempt an unlikely upset against the Sugarmen.

Kabras travel to Nairobi sitting top of the table and brimming with confidence. The inclusion of speedster Griffin Chao and centre Walter Okoth adds further depth to an already formidable squad. The champions will be aiming to maintain their fine run and keep their grip on the summit.

Nakuru RFC vs Impala RFC

In Nakuru, relegation-threatened Nakuru RFC will host Impala RFC in a high-stakes encounter.

Nakuru sit 11th on the 12-team table, having managed just one win from seven matches. Desperate for points, they will look to capitalise on home advantage. The addition of Kenya Sevens centre Chrissant Ojwang and former Shujaa ace Oscar Ouma could provide the much-needed spark.

Impala, however, head into the clash buoyed by their recent victory over Strathmore Leos and will be determined to continue their upward momentum.

Strathmore Leos vs Kisumu RFC

At the Strathmore Sports Complex, Strathmore Leos will take on bottom-placed Kisumu RFC.

Kisumu have endured a difficult campaign, registering only a single win so far. The Leos, on the other hand, will be keen to bounce back after falling to Impala in their previous outing and use home advantage to secure maximum points.
