Kulabu will be aiming to record consecutive wins for the first time this season after getting their first win last time out
Fresh from a morale boosting first win of the season, one-time Kenya Cup champions Mwamba RFC will be seeking to secure consecutive wins for the first time in this campaign when they take on relegation dwellers Top Fry Nakuru in an early Saturday afternoon rugby fixture that will be staged at the RFUEA Grounds.
In matchday 5, the Kevin Wambua coached side managed to end their four-game winless run since the start of the season as they edged Blak Blad 10-28 in a match that coincided with the return of veteran Collins Injera to the team. The victory helping Kulabu move out of the relegation places and into ninth on the log.
Heading into their encounter against a Nakuru side that is yet to record a win in their opening five matches (D1 L4), Kulabu will be seeking to get another win that will further establish daylight between them and the ever present threat of relegation.
Speaking ahead of the game, Wambua expressed optimism that his team can get the job done after the return of the experienced boys including Edwin Machanje and Tony Owuor who will provide much needed experience and leadership to the inexperienced youngsters.
“I expect a tough game from Nakuru. But after getting the first win of the season last time out, we should perform well after that result and I believe we have taken a corner in our fortunes. We have our experienced players like Injera, Tony and Machanje back and you could see how Injera’s leadership made a difference against Blak Blad. We hope to build on that momentum and pick more points,” he told Mozzart Sport.

On the other hand, 2013 and 2014 champions Nakuru will be hoping to arrest their lethargic form as quickly as possible before things get even harder when it comes to relegation.
Having lost to tough opponents in Strathmore Leos, Kabras Sugar, KCB and Homeboyz and drawing against Blak Blad, Nakuru will be eyeing to throw everything against Mwamba in a bid to rescue their season as they currently sit second last on the log having managed only two points from the draw.
Whether they will find delight or their misery will be stretched even further, remains to be seen.
The match kicks off at 1300 EAT.
The action continues this weekend in the #KenyaCup.
