
Prinsloo 7s: Top guns unscathed in Main Cup quarters

The penultimate of the National Sevens Circuit is entering fever pitch.
There were no major upsets in the Main Cup quarters with KCB RFC, Homeboyz RFC, Strathmore Leos and Menengai Oilers all punching a ticket to the semi finals in the Prinsloo 7s
Reigning Dala 7s champions, Homeboyz RFC who have grown in leaps and bounds in every leg of the circuit punched a ticket to the semis of the Main Cup after whitewashing Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) 26-0.
The second quarter finalso, served up an end to end encounter with Strathmore Leos edging Kenya Harlequin 26-19 with Quins leveling the scores with seconds left on the clock but the students' never say die attitude resulted in Branson Madigu landing the match winning try.
In a repeat of the Kenya Cup final, Kabras Sugar faced Menengai Oilers with the Nakuru-based side exerting revenge with a hard fought 14-7 win as they continue to carry the hopes of the City after Nakuru RFC failed to make the Cup quarters.
An off color KCB again labored to victory with a 12-7 win over Driftwood 7s champions Mwamba RFC with Andrew Amonde registered a try in the game.
In the semis, KCB RFC will face Menengai Oilers while Strathmore Leos will lock horns with Homeboyz RFC.

Varsity side Catholic Monks finally got going in the Prinsloo 7s after registering their first win of the tournament, beating Kisumu RFC 10-7 following identical 10-19 defeats to Kabras Sugar and Western Bulls and finished their day with a Homeboyz loss.
Blak Blad count not build on their closing day win over Vihiga Granites as they were thumped 29-0 by Impala Saracens who advanced to the Challenge Cup Semis

Nakuru RFC who are the hosts of the tournament continued with their nightmare results as they suffered a shock 15-29 defeat at the hands of Western Bulls whose only win of Day 1 came against Monks.
In a rather low scoring affair, Nondescripts who stunned KCB RFC on Saturday edged Vihiga Granites 5-0 as they await to find out their opponents in the Challenge Cup Semis.
