The team has partnered with Kentaste, joining as the club’s official sponsor.

Kentaste, a producer of coconut products, will support the Pirates’ participation in the iconic event set to take place from Saturday, 16 to Sunday, 17 August at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.

The partnership marks a major milestone for the immediate former Kenya Cup side, who were recently relegated from the top-tier league.

The club continues to re-establish their presence on the national rugby scene and will be keen to put a mark after missing on last year’s circuit.

“South Coast Pirates RFC is proud to announce Kentaste as our official sponsor for the third leg of the National Sevens Circuit, Christie 7s tournament.

This marks a significant milestone for our club as we continue to grow our presence on the national stage with the backing of a proudly Kenyan brand," the club said in a statement.

Founded in 2014, Kentaste has grown from a small family business into a globally recognised manufacturer and exporter, supplying high-quality coconut products to markets across Africa, the USA, Europe, and the Middle East.

The Pirates highlighted the shared values between the two partners, both rooted in the Coast region and driven by a mission of growth, innovation, and community impact.

“As a coastal-based club with deep roots in our region, we are thrilled to align with a brand that not only shares our heritage but also champions innovation and healthy living,” the statement continued.

After missing out on the previous edition of the Sevens Circuit, the Pirates are eager to make a spirited return, and the Kentaste partnership could not have come at a better time.

“We thank Kentaste for believing in the Pirates' journey and look forward to flying both flags high at the Christie 7s,” the club added.

The last time the Pirates featured in the National Sevens Circuit was in 2023 when they finished in third place. They were defeated in the semi-finals by Makueni.

The South Coast Pirates had a strong showing in the tournament, only conceding tries in one of their four matches before the semi-finals.

They were awarded third place after Catholic Monks, who were scheduled to play them in the bronze final, failed to show up.
