Eliud Kipchoge launches own foundation with focus on education and environment

Two-time Olympic marathon gold medalist Eliud Kipchoge has announced the launch of his own Eliud Kipchoge Foundation that is focused on education and environment as its two pillars.

Fresh from becoming one of only three men to win back to back Olympic crowns after winning gold in the Tokyo 2020 men’s marathon final, the ‘No Human Is Limited Ambassador’ has ventured into a field that is said to have always been close to his heart throughout his life as he tries to impact the world for the better off the track

Speaking after launching his foundation, the Greatest marathoner of All Time expressed his delight at having the chance of playing a part in impacting the lives of youngsters through education and by advocating for a better environment as he explained the roles those two pillars played in getting him to where he is at.

“I’m very grateful to launch my Eliud Kipchoge Foundation today. My mission is to give all children in the world access to knowledge and education. I want those children to grow up into healthy adults in a green and breathing world where forests keep our people safe. I hope to contribute and grow the movement in education and environmental protection through my Foundation, to reach the people in the world with my voice, to raise awareness and to raise finances to build libraries, schools and forests. I was lucky in my life to have access to books and knowledge from a young age. It taught me to value life,” the athlete posted on his social media platforms.

Under the education pillar, the objective of the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation seeks to sponsor school fees and to give more children access to education, to build libraries and inspire people through the importance of education and the power of books.

Under the environment pillar, the foundation aims to help in keeping forests, to plant trees, to make full use of farms by planting trees and producing good fruit and vegetables, to conserve the environment for the next generation and to help make running become a lifestyle for as many people as possible.
