
Strategist Waithaka rooting for teamwork in men 10,000m

The 2018 World Under-20 5,000m silver medallist Stanley Waithaka has urged compatriots to work on a mutual plan in order to achieve success in Oregon, USA next month.
The vastly talented long distance star shared his enthusiasm after securing qualification to represent Kenya at the World Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Waithaka placed second in 10,000m at the Kenyan trials staged at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani on Saturday to punch tickets to both events.
The Japan-based athlete who clocked 27:34.01 says he is ready for challenge at the global arena.
"It does feel great making a comeback to the national team. It has been a minute," Waithaka said ahead of the Worlds to be held from July 15 to 24 in Oregon, USA followed by Commonwealth Games on July 28 to August 8 in Birmingham, UK.

"I know what teamwork can do ,we employed it at the World under 20 Championships in Tampere, Finland and it bore fruits as we took gold and silver. We can achieve more if we can work as a team," said Waithaka.
