At the bottom of the league table lies APS Bomet with five points, a point and three less than Kariobangi Sharks and KCB respectively, who all occupy the relegation slots.
The biggest highlight of the day will be the 100th match pitting Gor Mahia against Tusker FC at the Kasarani Stadium from 1500 hrs.
The two teams have met 99 times before, the highest fixture in the league history, with Gor Mahia winning 40 of the meetings, Tusker claiming victory 30 times, while the spoils have been shared 29 times.
Despite starting the season with a loss to Bidco United, Gor Mahia have won five and drawn one of the six games they played thereafter.
K’Ogalo are on a mission to reclaim the league title after losing it to Kenya Police FC by having a better performance than last season, including picking points from some of the games they dropped points in the last campaign.
One of the games where K’Ogalo dropped points last season was against Tusker. The Brewers picked four points from Gor Mahia, a record Charles Akonnor is keen to change.
“We analyzed the matches where we dropped points including Tusker, who are a big and good team, and so we will just have to stick with our plan and do our best to win the match,” said Akonnor.
The 51-year-old expressed weariness on fatigue that might be affecting some of his players, hinting at rotating the squad.
“We have some of the players who traveled with the national team and might be fatigued from the long journey. While we will maintain our style and idea of football, we might make a few changes in order to have fresh legs in the match,” he added.
Tusker, on the other hand, have had a mixed start to the season, winning three, drawing three and tasting defeat in an equal number of games.
The Brewers head into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat to defending champions Kenya Police FC, but will be encouraged with their record against Gor Last season, at least according to the team's head coach Charles Okere.
“We did a good job last season against Gor and I believe with the preparation physically, mentally and tactically, we will also compete well this season.
What we must improve on in order to be more competitive and compete for the title is to be clinical in front of goal,” said Okere.

Kenya Police FC vs Mathare United
At the Police Sacco Stadium, defending champions Kenya Police FC will welcome 2008 champions Mathare United from 1500 hrs.
Sitting 10th on the table, Kenya Police head into the match after getting back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Tusker FC.
The law enforcers are under pressure to retain the league title and return to continental football, while Mathare are keen on putting on a better performance and improving on their point tally.
Last season, Police secured a 2-0 victory over Mathare in the first leg, before The Slum Boys claimed a 1-0 victory in the return leg.
Bidco United vs Bandari FC
Bidco United will lock horns with Bandari FC in a match scheduled at St. Sebastian Park, Murang'a from 1500 hrs.
After failing to score a single goal in their last three matches, Bidco will be hoping to find their scoring boots and secure a win, while Bandari will be buoyed by coach Mohamed Borji’s first win to propel them to victory.
Last season, Bidco secured a 2-0 win over The Dockers, before settling for a goalless draw in the return leg.
Mara Sugar vs KCB
Mara are out of form and have won just one of their last five games to sit eighth on the log ahead of their match against KCB FC, who are on a poor run of form, losing three and drawing two of their last five matches.
