Slowly but surely, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is entering its final stages. The Round of 16 is over, and there weren't many surprises, except for Mali's triumph over Tunisia and Cameroon's win against South Africa (if it ever was unexpected). Still, many favourites struggled until they got their victories.

As usual, following the end of an AFCON phase, Mozzart Sport Kenya brings you the "Best XI" of a just-finished round, in which the winners took their deserved places.

Despite playing almost 100 minutes with a man down, Mali recorded a heroic win over Tunisia, as their custodian Djigui Diarra shone, stopping two penalties in the shoot-out.

The trio in front of him consists of Egypt's Yasser Ibrahim, who led the Pharaohs' defence to a hard-won extra-time triumph against Benin, Cameroon's Junior Tchamadeu, who broke the deadlock against South Africa, and Algeria's Ramy Bensebaini, who was one of the most deserving players for the Desert Foxes' clean-sheet win over DR Congo after extra time.

The duo of central midfielders is made up of two Senegalese, the brace-scorer against Sudan and the man who provided a brace of assists, Sadio Mane, whom we had to drop slightly deeper.

The hero of Ivory Coast's crushing victory over Burkina Faso, Amad Diallo, is on the left flank, while the Morocco captain, Achraf Hakimi, is on the opposite side.

Finally, the attacking trio consists solely of Nigerian players, as Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Akor Adams combined for all the goals the Super Eagles scored in a statement 4-0 win over Mozambique.
