In the polls held on Thursday, most incumbents successfully defended their seats

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) county elections were finally held on Thursday, November 14, after a High Court in Kitui lifted the conservatory orders that barred the electoral board from conducting polls.

Elections were carried out in 44 counties save for three: Homa Bay, Turkana, and Mandera, which were rescheduled, and six others in which the incumbents returned unopposed.

Ahead of the national polls scheduled for Saturday 7 December, the front runners are Team Blue with the presidential ticket of FKF Vice President Doris Petra deputized by outgoing president Nick Mwendwa and Team Fresh Start led by Extreme Sports CEO Hussein Mohammed and former Harambee Stars captain McDonald Mariga.

The results of the elected chairperson show that the majority of them are allied to Team Blue with about 27 chairpersons so far with Team Fresh coming in second with about 14 chairpersons.

Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula allies carried the day in two counties with results from some counties especially in the North Eastern region yet to be made public although most of them were affiliated with Team Fresh.

In the polls held on Thursday, most incumbents successfully defended their seats.

Four of the six unopposed candidates are allied to the Petra/Mwendwa axis.

It is however important to note that before the national polls are held, it is expected that some delegates might change affiliations even as candidates continue to hunt for votes.

The list is compiled under delegates who had expressed their support to their preferred presidential candidates before the Thursday elections.

Here is a list of the elected chairperson and their perceived affiliations.
