Ambani, who has his team joint top of the FKF Premier League, wants the Ingwe players to replicate their positive week on and off the pitch to another match winning performance, which will edge them closer to attaining their dream at the start of the season.
Last weekend, AFC Leopards recorded their biggest win - on goal margin - in over 15 months when they smashed Tusker 4-0, a result that Ambani has credited for lifting the players’ spirits this week.
Reacting to its impact, Ambani said: “It had been a while since we scored more than two goals, and by the way the team has approached this week, it seems that game motivated them a lot.
The players on that day went obviously for a win, but they were also not expecting to get four goals. Once they did, it gave them a big lift, and looking at how they trained this week, they are very serious, and know that they will have to beat teams to win the league.”

One example to how big a week it was for the playing unit, was the return to training of both James Kinyanjui and Tyson Otieno, who had elicited some concerns after being substituted early against Tusker with apparent niggles.
Giving an update on both of his key men, Ambani said there was nothing major, as Otieno only missed one day of training, with Kinyanjui remaining present all through.
“I am pleased that all were minor issues, and that gives us a push too,” Ambani said.
Off the pitch, Ambani was also all smiles after being the recipient of an SJAK coach-of-the-month award, having guided Ingwe to three wins and a draw all through December.
To cap the eventful seven days, is a meeting with Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo’s side, and Ambani is unrelenting.
“APS is a team that just got promoted, but has an experienced coach,” the former AFC Leopards player said. “They have pulled shocking results this season, and that means we need to be prepared for any eventualities. Our players also know it will be a hard game, and have to treat them as a team that is in the top league, and is also competitive.”
The game kicks off at 4pm East African Time.
