Germany superstar suffered a grave muscle injury, which forced him to end the season two months before the 2026 FIFA World Cup
Rodrygo and Hugo Ekitike are certainly out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Estevao's appearance is hanging by a thread, while Lamine Yamal's recent injury worried everyone, as the teenage magician may miss the prestigious tournament as well.
Unfortunately, a few days ago, we got another star, who'll be forced to cheer for his national team from the comfort of his living room or from the stands, but won't be able to help his teammates on the pitch - Serge Gnabry.
🚨❌ BREAKING | After his serious injury (a tear of the adductor muscles in his right thigh), Serge #Gnabry has now confirmed he will miss the World Cup.

The Bayern Munich and Germany star suffered a severe muscle injury during the Bavarians' Champions League clash against Real Madrid, and the season is over for him, as he’s about to be sidelined for 3-4 months.
Except for the World Cup, he'll be forced to miss the end of the Bundesliga campaign (today's duel against Mainz (16.30), in the first place), which his team has already dominated, the German Cup (DFB Pokal) final against Stuttgart, and the final stages of Bayern's UCL run - the semi-final duels against Paris Saint-Germain and the potential grand final against either Arsenal or Atletico Madrid.
Given that he's 30, this may have been Gnabry's last chance to feature at the World Cup, as he wasn't called up in 2018 and was, as now, injured in 2022.
He announced the devastating news in an Instagram post, revealing how rough things had been for him these days.
"The last few days have been tough to process. A Bayern season which still holds much to play for after securing another Bundesliga title on the weekend."
"As for the World Cup dream with Germany... That’s sadly over for me. Like the rest of the country I’ll be supporting the boys from home."
"Now it’s time to focus on recovery and getting back for pre-season. Thank you for all the messages," Gnabry wrote via Yahoo Sports.
