Anthony Naibei opened the scoring in the 20th minute before substitute Dickson Mwangi added a second in the 65th minute, with Hakitimana Mahadjiri scoring a consolation for Naibois in the 77th minute.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport after the match, APS Bomet head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omolo opened up on his match-winning tactical plan.
“Our strategy was to get a goal in the first half, and I was glad it came early enough, and so was the second goal.
We also knew they would camp at our goal in the last 20 minutes, which they did, but we had adequately prepared for that,” said Pamzo.
“I am happy with how my players worked hard. I assured them of a win if we put in the kind of work that we did,” he added.
While APS Bomet showed improvements in various aspects of the game, the veteran tactician singled out an area that impressed him most.

“I am more than happy that we did not concede as a result of our mistake, as has been the case in the past games.
My back four has really improved, and we will be working to improve even further. We need to be compact like we did in the majority of the match. Our attack is okay because we always find a way of scoring,” he remarked.
While the win took the league newbies out of the relegation zone to 14th on the log with 18 points, Omollo is still yearning for more.
“We are now targeting back-to-back wins to help us get out of the relegation matrix and build more confidence in the team.”
