For the first time, the Colombian will play in the MLS league, after signing a deal with Minnesota United
The book of James Rodriguez's career has reached its 13th chapter, called Minnesota United. After spending the previous year at Mexican Leon, the Colombian has joined an MLS side for the first time in his "journeyman" career.
Minnesota has thus become the forward's 13th career club, while the USA is the 12th country he has played in. He signed a deal through June, with an option to extend through December.

“James is a player whose quality, vision, and experience at the highest levels of the game are unquestioned. We’re excited to add his creativity and football intelligence to our group," said Minnesota's Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director Khaled El-Ahmad via the club's official website, while Rodriguez stated he was looking forward to meeting the fans for the first time.
Colombia national team captain will have a fortnight to fit into the team, as the new campaign in the US top flight for Minnesota starts on February 22 with a clash against Austin FC on the road.
Last season, the popular Loons were fourth in the Western Conference, but were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the playoffs by San Diego. Minnesota have never been MLS champions, and the acquisition of James shows their ambitions are high.
This way, the 34-year-old joined a number of superstars who decided to try their luck in the US in the final stage of their careers, such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Son Heung-min, Rodrigo De Paul, Thomas Muller, Marco Reus, etc.
