As one of the teams with the best players in the league, it is interesting to know how the players at Gor Mahia rate each other on different aspects of the game.

In a quickfire session with the club's media during their training session at the Stima Club in Nairobi, the FKF Premier League reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) Austin Odhiambo, was the first to pick his choices as follows:

Best left foot - Bryson Wangai

Best right foot - Austin Odhiambo

Quickest player - Shariff Musa

Strongest player - Christopher Ochieng

Best Free Kick taker - Austin Odhiambo

Best Skills - Austin Odhiambo

Former Dhofar SC defender Alphonce Omija largely agreed with his teammate, save for a few areas, while also adding other categories.

The revelations by the two players offer a glimpse of how athletes rate themselves within K'Ogalo, with Odhiambo coming on top of most categories, a testament as to why he is arguably the most important player not only in the club but also in the league.

Gor Mahia are under pressure to try and defend the league title, which proves to be a tough task day by day with league leaders Kenya Police FC posting more consistent results and look favourites to win what would be their first league title.

Gor Mahia cannot afford to drop more points after their win over KCB FC on Monday, 7 April if they are to bag their 22nd league title.

Nevertheless, with three points shy of Police and with a game in hand, the Sinisa Mihic-coached side will be keeping their hopes alive to take the title race down to the wire.
