Gareth Bale was on fire as Mourinho’s men found another gear and steamrolled Burnley at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Real Madrid's troubled star Gareth Bale reminded us of hs best as he set the tone for Tottenham’s victory over Burnley. The Welsh legend showed that his predatory instinct is very much alive on his return to the starting eleven. He pounced just 68 seconds into the game to steer a Son Heung-Min’s pass into the back of Nick Pope’s net.
Before a quarter of an hour had gone, Burnley have already been staring into the abyss of another defeat. Gareth Bale turned provider this time as he played a wonderful long pass into the path of Harry Kane. The England star still had a lot to do, but he’s done it wonderfully well. He cut in from the left fing and fired past Pope via a slight deflection. It was a devastating counter-attack by Jose Mourinho’s men.
Lucas Moura made it 3-0 just after the hour mark as Sean Dyche looked well and truly lost on the touchline with his team sinking without trace. And then Bale added to the fourth to complete Tottenham's comprehensive victory over a Burnley side that looked second-best in just about every department.
