Coastal outfit currently sit fifth on the FKFPL log, nine points adrift of leaders Tusker
Bandari shot stopper Justin Ndikumana has admitted how much his coastal side are yearning to once again make forays into continental club action after missing out since 2019.
The Dockers have twice in recent years, 2018 and 2019, qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup but the team failed to make it into the cherished group stages on both occasions. Back in 2019, their most recent outing, the Dockers missed out on the group stages in the final preliminary round, losing both legs to Guinean outfit AC Horoya 5-2 on aggregate.

Ndikumana, who was part of the then losing side, in an interview on the club’s social media pages, opened up on how the team is working to atone for past failed opportunities.
“When we played in the CAF Confederation Cup we missed qualifying for the group stages by a whisker. Everyone at Bandari relishes a return to playing CAF matches and not only to qualify but to be successful as well,” the Burundian international is quoted on Bandari’s social handles.

Currently, Bandari sit fifth on the log on 27 points, just nine adrift log leading Tusker and since Andre Cassa Mbungo took over the club on 4th January, the team has only lost one game in ten matches, winning five, drawing four and losing only one game.
In the sixteen games also played, Burundian Ndikumana has chipped in to Bandari’s success, keeping seven clean sheets to his name – the second most in the league.
