Alongside Mexico and Canada, the USA are one of the three host nations of this summer's competition, while Senegal will travel to North America hoping they can win their final friendly before their first group game next month.

The USA enter the clash under pressure after suffering back-to-back defeats against Portugal and Belgium.

Mauricio Pochettino's men lost 2-0 to Portugal before a heavy 5-2 defeat against Belgium, conceding seven goals across those two matches.

However, the Americans had previously enjoyed a strong run, beating Uruguay 5-1, Paraguay 2-1 and Australia 2-1 while drawing 1-1 with Ecuador.

Across their last six matches, the USA have recorded three wins, one draw and two losses, averaging 2 goals scored and 1.83 goals conceded per game.

Both teams scored in five of those six fixtures, while four produced over 2.5 goals.

Home form remains relatively encouraging despite the recent setbacks. Before the losses to Portugal and Belgium, the USMNT had gone five home friendlies without defeat, registering four wins and a draw.

Their attack continues to be productive, scoring at least twice in five of their last six matches. Team news sees defender Miles Robinson unavailable, while Christian Pulisic is expected to spearhead the attack alongside Timothy Weah and Malik Tillman.

Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams and Sebastian Berhalter should anchor the midfield.

Senegal arrives in significantly better form. The Lions of Teranga have won each of their last six matches, defeating Gambia 3-1, Peru 2-0, Morocco 1-0, Egypt 1-0, Mali 1-0 and Sudan 3-1.

During that sequence, they scored 11 goals and conceded only two, averaging 1.83 goals scored and 0.33 goals conceded per game.

Three of those six matches ended with clean sheets, highlighting the defensive solidity that has become their trademark.

In fact, Senegal have won 12 of their last 15 matches and are currently on a seven-game winning streak.

Away form presents the only slight concern for Senegal, having failed to win three of their previous four away friendlies.

Nevertheless, their overall consistency remains exceptional. Kalidou Koulibaly is expected to miss out through injury, leaving Moussa Niakhate and Mamadou Sarr likely to start centrally.

Key attacking threats include Sadio Mane, Nicolas Jackson and Ismaila Sarr, while Lamine Camara and Pape Matar Sarr provide quality in midfield.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the USA and Senegal.

Key Betting Pointers;

  • The USA lost their latest two matches
  • Senegal have won 12 of their last 15 matches
  • Senegal have posted seven straight wins ahead of this encounter
  • Across their last 12 matches, the USA managed just one clean sheet

Given Senegal's defensive discipline, superior recent form and remarkable winning run, they appear better equipped to handle this challenge.

The USA possess attacking quality and home advantage, but their defensive vulnerabilities remain difficult to ignore.

Prediction: Senegal to win
