Burkinabe hero Kabore comes on to score a hattrick and hand the Stallions a WC playoff ticket!

Heart of Midlothian left winger was brought on in the 62nd minute with 0-0 on the scoreboard. He didn't score a single goal in his four caps before that. And then...

This is what fairytales are made of! Pierre Landry Kabore of Burkina Faso scored a sensational second-half hat-trick on Sunday night as a substitute to beat Ethiopia 3-1 and, most probably, hand his national team a ticket for the World Cup international playoffs.

In his only fifth appearance for the Stallions following a debut in June, the 24-year-old Heart of Midlothian left winger starred big time in Ouagadougou.

After a disappointing goalless stalemate around the hour mark against Ethiopia at home, Kabore was brought on and set a fire by scoring three goals to seal a 3-1 victory, which means the Stalions are now among the four best second-placed teams and on the verge of progressing to the WC playoffs.

Burkina Faso are now five points below Egypt in Group A, but more importantly, they're level with Niger in second place on another table along with other runners-up.

The outcome will be clear after Monday and Tuesday night as the other contenders - such as Cameroon, Uganda, and DR Congo - play their respective games.
