It is a clash loaded with significance because at stake is not only a place among Africa’s football elite but also a lucrative KSh 90 million windfall from CAF, a financial boost that could transform the club’s fortunes.

The Law Enforcers trail 1–0 on aggregate after falling at home last week at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, where Malian forward Adama Coulibaly punished a defensive lapse from Charles Ouma to score the decisive goal in the 19th minute.

That match was played behind closed doors after Nyayo Stadium was allocated for the funeral of the late former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga, and saw Police dominate early exchanges but failed to make their possession count.

Having advanced to this stage after eliminating Mogadishu City Club on away goals following a 3–3 aggregate draw, Police now face their sternest test yet.

They must win by at least two unanswered goals to advance to the group phase of Africa’s premier club competition.

Despite the uphill task, head coach Etienne Ndiyaragijje remains optimistic and believes his side can rise to the occasion.

With God, anything is possible. To our fans back home, I urge you to keep supporting us in prayer. I’m confident we’ll get a favorable result,” Ndiyaragijje said ahead of the match.

The Burundian tactician expressed satisfaction with his team’s mental and physical readiness, insisting that his players are fully aware of what’s at stake.

The players are in high spirits. We’ve prepared them well, and they understand the magnitude of this fixture. They know why we’re here, and they’re motivated and ready to give everything,” he added.

Ndiyaragijje also revealed that the team has enjoyed smooth preparations since arriving in Libya and will hold a final training session at the match venue to fine-tune tactics before kickoff.

Our preparation has been good. We’ll have our final session at the stadium to assess our readiness. Everything has gone according to plan, and I believe we’re set for the challenge,” he noted.

Crucially, the coach confirmed that the entire squad is available for selection, with no injury concerns reported after the team’s multi-phase travel to Benghazi.

We travelled in three groups, but everyone has arrived safely. Thankfully, there are no injuries, and we’re all ready for the match,” he said.
