Owino's leadership skills came in handy in Napsa Stars' promotion charge
In the Napsa Stars end of season awards announced on Saturday 14 May, Kenyan international David ‘Calabar’ Owino scooped the Most Disciplined Player of the Year.
Calabar is coming off an impressive season with the Pensioners as they finished third to secure an automatic promotion spot and missed the title by just six points.
Napsa capped off their spectacular season by winning the FA Cup after beating Zambian Super League current champions Red Arrows to lift their second-ever cup title.

The former Gor Mahia defender however missed a number of games at the start of the season with his future the subject of speculation following the team’s relegation.
During the season, Owino picked up a few yellow cards that handed him the Most Disciplined Player of the Year gong ahead of his teammates in the just-concluded season.
Other players to bag awards in the club’s end-of-season gala included Luka Banda Player of the Year, Roswell Mukwanya Best Upcoming Player, Gift Zulu Most Consistent, Musonda Kapembwa Top Scorer.
Calabar will make a return to the Zambian top flight where he has played since making the move from Gor Mahia back in 2014 bar last season where he played in the Zambian Division One.
This brings the number of Kenyans to win a club award in Zambia this season to two after Ian Otieno bagged the Most Consistent Player of the Year at Zesco United.
