Calling it crazy would be understatement! Man Utd and Spurs share spoils after late drama
Reading Time: 3min | Sat. 08.11.25. | 17:32
One of the most boring games of the ongoing Premier League season transformed into a four-goal thriller in the dying minutes (2-2)
Far from brilliant, more dull than dazzling, rather uninspiring... that was the summary of the Tottenham vs Manchester United game within the opening 80 minutes, with the Red Devils being so close to clinching a vital away win.
And then came absolute chaos...
The last 15 minutes (including injury time) provided us with three more goals and an almost unprecedented drama, which ended in a 2-2 draw!
An incredible end to the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with three goals in 12 minutes

Spurs and Manchester United share the spoils after Matthijs de Ligt's last-gasp equaliser 🤝 pic.twitter.com/4OvWU1Q09Z
We witnessed a crazy rollercoaster, as Spurs came from behind to get on the verge of victory, but Matthijs de Ligt - the tragic hero of the game before that - netted in the ultimate seconds for a probably deserved stalemate.
But let's explain how this bizarre story unfolded from start to finish...
If it were for the opening 84 minutes, this would be one of the worst games of the season.
The hosts were clueless, without a single shot on target in the first half. Ruben Amorim's men were not too good, either, but the connection between Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo paid the dividends again. The former's lovely cross found the Cameroonian in the middle of the box for a routine header to put the visitors in front.
Never thought I’d see mbeumo scoring a header 😭🔥 pic.twitter.com/GVb4UiatH4

Thomas Frank needed to react instantly and shake things up a bit, which resulted in a couple of fine chances after the break. Palhinha and Romero fired superbly, but United's new keeper, Senne Lammens, proved he's almost perfect both with shot-stopping and positioning.
And then, when many of us, reporters, were already calculating how far Manchester United could go on the table with that away win (they would have been second with a win, by the way), the drama erupted.

Mathys Tel singlehandedly pushed Spurs away from the jaws of the Red Devils, getting away from De Ligt to nail it under the crossbar for an unexpected stalemate, 1-1.
What followed was even crazier - out of nowhere, shy Richarlison reminded us of the magic this guy's got in those shoes for a complete comeback at the beginning of the stoppage time.

At that point, the day seemed to have unfolded horribly for Manchester United, who were suddenly on the verge of catastrophe. But the game's not over till the fat lady sings, as they say - there was just enough time left on the clock for De Ligt to transform and rescue United, as it ended in a 2-2 draw.
MATTHIJS DE LIGT SALVAGES A POINT AT THE LAST MOMENT, HE HEADS IN AT THE BACK POST. Bruno Fernandes delivers the corner & de Ligt is there with a thumping header. Very well deserved for MDL who has been immense most of the game. pic.twitter.com/D4TGewFXof
