After dethroning Arsenal from the Premier League summit after chasing them for six months and 18 days, the FA Cup clash against the second-tier side Southampton should be a formality for the Cityzens
Until a month ago, Arsenal were eyeing a quadruple, while Manchester City were out of the spotlight. Now, the Gunners are alive in only three competitions, and the Cityzens have already won one trophy and aim for two more, keeping their domestic treble dreams alive.
After the somewhat unexpected Champions League exit and a defeat to Real Madrid, Pep Guardiola's men quickly bounced back, beat Arsenal in the EFL Cup final, erased their advantage in the Premier League, and advanced to the FA Cup semi-finals.
And while their current biggest rivals will take on a massive Newcastle challenge, the Cityzens will host Southampton (19.15) in the FA Cup semi, hoping for an easy win. After all, the Saints are a second-tier side, while City is a club in arguably the best form in the world at the moment.
Still, the underdogs knocked out the Gunners in the previous round, so they have to be respected and taken seriously.
🇩🇪🧠 Reminder: Southampton's manager Tonda Eckert is just 33-years-old. 🤯

Therefore, Guardiola isn't expected to shuffle the lineup too much. Erling Haaland might get some rest after fighting a fierce battle against Gabriel Magalhaes in last week's derby, and ahead of the crucial EPL challenges.
The same goes for several other starters, such as Gianluigi Donnarumma, Bernardo Silva, Rodri, and Antoine Semenyo. But regardless, City's squad is still as powerful as it gets compared to Southampton's, and a win is not in question.
At least that's what everyone thinks. It's up to the Cityzens to prove them right on the pitch.
