Los Blancos are reportedly ready to splurge over €100 million to bring the latest Ballon d'Or winner
Real Madrid are throughly searching for a reinforcement in the midfield. Stuttgart's Angelo Stiller and Exequiel Palacios of Bayer Leverkusen were crossed eventually eliminated as options, while Martin Zubimendi and Tijjani Reijnders opted for Arsenal and Man City, respectively.
However, according to The Sun, Los Blancos could hand a massive blow to the Cityzens, as they plan to "steal" the latest Ballon d'Or winner, Rodri!

Namely, Madrid's recent 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at the FIFA Club World Cup was a definite proof to their management and Xabi Alonso that they urgently need a midfielder. But not just any midfielder, but a well-proven name, and that's how they came up with Rodri.
The Sun further claims that Florentino Perez and Co. are aware that a player of the Spaniard's quality is costly and are allegedly ready to splurge €115 million on his transfer. However, the source also states that the La Liga side could wait another year just to check on Rodri's condition after his recovery from his ACL tear and the eight-month break.
The 29-year-old is allegedly very interested in returning to Spain. After all, he was born in Madrid and played for Villarreal and Atletico before joining the Etihad crew in 2019.
If he indeed arrived to Santiago Bernabeu for the rumoured amount, he'd become the second most expensive acquisition in Real Madrid's history after Eden Hazard.
