Rossoneri thump Monza 3-0 at San Siro

Milan brushed Monza aside 3-0 in the opening game of the Serie A Sunday programme. Three well-worked goals from Tijjani Reijnders, debutant Jan-Carlo Simic and Noah Okafor sealed a landslide victory for the Rossoneri.

It was a strong start from the hosts, as Reijnders went on a stunning slalom between five defenders to finish it smoothly past Monza's keeper Michele Di Gregorio.

Tommaso Pobega then went off with a muscular problem, giving right-back Jan-Carlo Simic his debut, which proved to be crucial for this tie. The latter, 18-year-old Serb, soon came sliding in for the perfect debut, scoring in front of the Curva Sud.

Christian Pulisic almost made it 3-0 before half-time, his excellent curler thumping the crossbar at the far top corner with Di Gregorio beaten.

Finally, Okafor got the third goal after a sensational team effort. Reijnders got away from Akpa Akpro and found Giroud with an inspired disguised flicked pass, which the Frenchman immediately cushioned with one touch for Okafor to sweep into the bottom corner with the inside of the right boot.
