Ten Hag is desperate to find a proper striker, but it's easier said than done

Defeat after defeat. That's the sad story of Manchester United's Sunday after they suffered a failure at the beginning of the Premier League, losing to Brighton 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag's desire to bring in a classical striker directed United's eyes towards Italy and Bologna's forward Marko Arnautovic.

Despite his age, 33, he was recognized as a perfect solution for the Red Devils' offensive issues.

Arnautovic previously proved in the Premier League that he's great in terms of finding the back of the net. He scored 43 goals in 184 matches for Stoke and West Ham. Even the conditions for the player himself were great: a salary of 3,000,000 euros per season and a two-year contract.

However, the riposte from the Italians is nothing but negative.

Even an 8,500,000-worth offer was not enough to convince Sinisa Mihajlovic's club to release the team's top scorer last season (15 goals across all competitions).
