Ten Hag was hoping for PSG's Leandro Paredes, but the price tag the Saints had put on him is too high, indeed

Manchester United are desperate for reinforcements on several positions in the team, but Erik ten Haag has made midfield his priority in the current transfer window.

The sports sector has begun to fulfil Ten Haag's orders, but it is not going well...

They allegedly agreed with Christian Eriksen, but the negotiations with Barcelona regarding Frenkie de Jong dragged on, although it seemed that they were close to an agreement at one point. Today's L'Equipe reports they, therefore, contacted Leandro Paredes.

However, according to French journos, the Red Devils were met with an unexpected riposte from the City of Lights.

Paredes' price tag is apparently 35,000,000 euros, twice more than his market value. It surprised the United board and, likely, won't proceed with the deal.

Especially following the rumours of Juventus' interest in the 28-year-old Argentine midfielder. The Turin Old Lady has wanted Paredes for a long time, and this summer, they are determined to see him in the black and white shirt finally.

Paredes landed at the Park of Princes three and a half years ago from Zenit for 25,000,000 euros but did not make more than 21 league appearances in any of it. Nevertheless, PSG activated a clause in his contract that was due to expire next summer and automatically extended it until July 2024.
